Toe Control Link: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Lexus IS 350 and 2006 Lexus IS 250. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK 
    1. Install the toe control link and insert the toe adjust cam from the front of the vehicle. Then, install the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate and temporarily tighten the nut.

      NOTE: Align the matchmarks on the rear suspension member and rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate.

      HINT:

      Fully tighten the nut after stabilizing the suspension.

    2. Install the rear suspension toe control link with a new nut.

    Torque: 70 N*m (714 kgf*cm, 52 ft.*lbf)

  2. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 
    1. Jack up the axle carrier, with a wooden block placed between the jack and axle carrier, to apply a load to the rear suspension so that the rear drive shaft assembly becomes level.

  3. FULLY TIGHTEN TOE CONTROL LINK 
    1. Fully tighten the nut on the rear suspension member side.

      Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Check that the matchmarks on the rear suspension member and rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate are aligned.
    2. Install the skid control sensor wire with the bolt.
    3. Connect the skid control sensor connector.

  4. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  5. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  6. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIM ADJUSTMENT (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
  7. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a tester) (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
  8. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a screen) (See  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
  9. INSPECT HEADLIGHT AIMING (See Step 4 in  ADJUSTMENT  ) 
  10. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING (See Step 5 in  ADJUSTMENT  )
