Check At Idle

  1. Engine start 
    1. Park the vehicle on the level surface.
    2. Move to "P" range.
    3. Turn IG switch to OFF
    4. Turn IG switch to START.

    Does the engine start?

    Yes 

    No Stop road test, "Engine does not start in P and N ranges."

  2. Engine start 
    1. Turn IG switch to ACC.
    2. Move to D or R ranges.
    3. Turn IG switch to start.

    Does the engine start in either position?

    No 

    Yes Stop road test, "Engine does not start in P and N ranges."

  3. Check the P position functions 
    1. Move to P range.
    2. Turn IG switch to OFF.
    3. Release the parking brake.
    4. Push the vehicle forward or reverse.
    5. Engage the parking brake.

    Does the vehicle move if pushed?

    No 

    Yes Check mark "The vehicle moves in P range if pushed" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  4. Check the N position functions 
    1. Start the engine.
    2. Move to N range.
    3. Release the parking brake.

    Does the vehicle move?

    No 

    Yes Check mark "The vehicle moves in N range" and continue the road test.

  5. Check the shift shock 
    1. Engage the brake.
    2. Move to D range.

    Is there harsh shock when moving from N to D Range?

    No 

    Yes Check mark "Shock is enormous when shifting N to D range" and continue the road test.

  6. Check the R range functions 

    Move to D, M range.

    Does the vehicle move reverse?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "Cannot move reverse in R range" and continue the road test.

  7. Check the D range functions 

    Move to D, M range.

    Does the vehicle move forward?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "Cannot move forward in D, M range" and continue the road test.
