How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

The intelligent tester can be used in steps 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 

    NEXT 

    1. Confirm problem symptoms (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
  3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for DTC outputs.

    DTC IS OUTPUT: CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT 

    DTC IS NOT OUTPUT: Go to step 4 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for DTC outputs.

    DTC IS OUTPUT: CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT 

    DTC IS NOT OUTPUT: Go to step 5 

  5. CHECK WARNING LIGHT 

    NEXT 

  6. CHECK DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 

    DTC IS OUTPUT (INCLUDING NORMAL SYSTEM CODE): Go to step 7 

    DTC IS NOT OUTPUT: PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  7. DTC CHART 

    NEXT 

  8. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 

    NEXT 

  9. REPAIR 

    NEXT 

  10. CLEAR DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 

    NEXT 

  11. CHECK DTC (Present and Past DTCs) 

    DTC IS NOT OUTPUT: Go to step 12 

    DTC IS OUTPUT: Go to step   7 

  12. CONFIRMATION TEST
