Automatic Transaxle Fluid Replacement
- Warm up ATF to operation temperature, 70 - 80°C (158 - 176°F).
- Disconnect the out hose of the oil cooler.
- Start the engine and drain the fluid, at "N" range and idling.CAUTION: Stop the engine for one minute after start-up or when ATF is drained up, at either time whichever earlier.
- Open the drain plug and drain up fluid, then tighten the plug with tightening torque.
Tightening torque:
40 - 50 N.m (400 - 500 kg-cm, 29 - 36 lb-ft)
- Reconnect the fluid cooler hose and fill ATF through the fluid filler tube.SPECIFIED ATF CAPACITY SPECIFICATION
Type Capacity Specified ATF F5A51-2 8.5 lit(8.9 US qt, 7.4 lmp qt) GENUINE DIAMOND ATF SP-III or SK ATF SP-III - Start the engine and idle it for one or two minutes.
- Move the selector lever through every position and place the lever at "P" or "N" position.
- Check the fluid level gauge if the ATF level is within the range marked "COLD". Add fluid if necessary.
- Run the vehicle to warm up ATF to operating temperature (70 - 80°C(158 - 176°F)) and check the ATF level again. ATF level shall be within the range marked HOT.NOTE: "HOT" level is more important than "COLD" level. "COLD" level is only for complementary information.
- Install the fluid level gauge into fluid filler tube.
