Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC RELATING TO LINEAR O2 SENSOR 
    1. Connect a Hi-Scan (Pro) to the data link connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and monitor any other DTCs relating to linear HO2S.

    Are DTCs relating to linear O2 sensor also set?

    1. No:  Go to next step.
    2. Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes before proceeding with this procedure.
  2. CHECK LINEAR O2 SENSOR AND ECM CONNECTORS 

    Thoroughly check connectors for loose, poor connection, bent, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. See CONNECTOR INSPECTION PROCEDURE .

    Are all connectors good?

    1. Yes:  Go to next step.
    2. No: Repair or replace it.
  3. CHECK LINEAR O2 SENSOR 
    1. Thoroughly check the linear O2 sensor for contamination, deterioration or damage.
    2. Check if the fuel used is unleaded gasoline.

    Is linear O2 sensor contaminated, deteriorated or damaged?

    1. No:  Proceed with ECM PROBLEM INSPECTION PROCEDURE .
    2. Yes: Repair or replace it.
