Drive Test Part 1

  1. Start from D1 
    1. Drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes until the engine oil and ATF reach the proper temperature.
      • Appropriate ATF temperature : 70 ~ 80° C(158~176°F)
    2. Park the vehicle on the level surface.
    3. Move to P Range.
    4. Engage the engine.
    5. Move to D Range.
    6. Depress the accelerator pedal halfway to accelerate the vehicle.

    If using hi-scan, read gear position.

    Does it start from D1?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "Does not start from D1" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  2. D1-->D2 shift up 

    Depress the accelerator pedal about halfway and check if shift up (D1-->D2) in a proper speed.

    Refer to SHIFT PATTERN .

    If using hi-scan, read gear position, throttle opening angle, and vehicle speed.

    Does shift up D1-->D2 in a proper speed?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "No D1-->D2 shift or No D4-->D2 quick down" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  3. D2-->D3 shift up 

    Depress the accelerator pedal about halfway and check if shift up (D2-->D3) in a proper speed.

    Refer to SHIFT PATTERN .

    If using hi-scan, read gear position, throttle opening angle, and vehicle speed.

    Does shift up D2-->D3 in a proper speed?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "No D2-->D3 shift" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  4. D3-->D4 shift up 

    Depress the accelerator pedal about halfway and check if shift up (D3-->D4) in a proper speed.

    Refer to SHIFT PATTERN .

    If using hi-scan, read gear position, throttle opening angle, and vehicle speed.

    Does shift up D3-->D4 in a proper speed?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "No D3-->D4 shift" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  5. D4-->D5 Shift up 

    Depress the accelerator pedal about halfway and check if shift up (D4-->D5) in a proper speed.

    Refer to SHIFT PATTERN .

    If using hi-scan, read gear position, throttle opening angle, and vehicle speed.

    Does shift up D4-->D5 in a proper speed?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "No D4-->D5 shift" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  6. Check the lock-up 

    Depress the accelerator pedal about halfway and check if shift up (D5-->D5 L/U) in a proper speed.

    Refer to SHIFT PATTERN .

    If using hi-scan, refer to "LU SOL 0.00A" as "Select Major Item".

    Does it lock-up?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "No D5-->D5 L/U shift" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  7. Check the lock-up hold 

    Does it maintain lock-up status?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "Does not maintain lockup status" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  8. Check the lock-up release 

    Release the accelerator pedal.

    Does lock-up release when releasing the accelerator pedal?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "Lock-up does not release" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

  9. Check the D5-->D4 shift down 

    Decelerate while depressing the brake pedal lightly. If using hi-scan, read gear position and engine speed.

    When shifting down from D5 to D4, does the engine speed drop smoothly to idle?

    Yes 

    No Check mark "The engine speed does not drop to idle" on the diagnosis sheet and continue the road test.

    1. Stop the vehicle.
    2. Go to DRIVE TEST PART 2 .
