The idle position switch is inside the Throttle Position (TP) sensor. The switch is closed in the idle position (accelerator pedal not depressed). The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls engine functions by sensing the position of the idle position switch. The TP sensor mounts on the side of the throttle body and is connected to the throttle blade shaft.
