Checking Engine Oil

  1. Position a vehicle on a level surface.
  2. Stop the engine.
CAUTION: In the case of a vehicle that has been out of service for a prolonged period, run the engine for several minutes. Stop the engine and wait a few minutes at least, then check the oil level.
  3. If the oil level is found to have fallen to the lower limit (the L mark), refill to the "F" mark.
