General Information: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause  
CASE 1 DTC Strategy
  • Initial pattern check
  • Open or short to chassis ground between TCM signal and ECM.
  • Short to battery between TCM and ECM.
  • Message timeout from TCM.
  • Faulty TCM.
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage > 10V
  
Threshold Value
  • TLOW > 2.5 and THIGH < 0.03
  • TLOW < 2.5 and THIGH > 0.5
Diagnostic Time
  • 2.5 sec. Continuous
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Signal validation
  
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage > 10V
  
Threshold Value
  • TLOW > 2.5
Diagnostic Time
  • 2.5 sec. Continuous
