General Information: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Plausibility check: signal noise check
  • Open or short circuit between HO2S signal circuit and ECM
  • Open or short circuit between HO2S ground circuit and ECM
  • Faulty Heated O2 Sensor (HO2S)
Enable Conditions
  • Coolant temperature > 76°C (168.8°F)
  • Air temperature at start > -7°C (19.4°F)
  • Vehicle speed < 5 km/h (3.1 mph)
  • Time after start > 590 sec.
  • Estimated altitude < 2800 m (9185 ft)
  • Limited canister saturation
  • Minimum canister purge time: 3~25 sec.
  • Idle speed engine operating state
  • Fuel tank pressure: -0.8~0.55 kPa (-0.0082~0.0056 kg/cm2, - 0.116~0.079 psi)
  • No relevant failure
  • Battery voltage > 11V

Threshold Value
  • Difference between max.-min > 0.05 kPa (0.0005 kg/cm2 , 0.0073 psi) (during 28 cycles with signal fluctuation period)
Diagnostic Time
  • 14 sec. in Idle when all Enable Conditions fulfilled
Fail Safe
