BRAKELIGHT Switch
NOTE:
Brakelight switch consists of cruise brake switch (dedicated to cruise control system) and brakelight switch (part of brakelight system).
- Ensure brakelight switch is properly adjusted. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Disconnect brakelight switch 4-pin connector. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between all 4 terminals. With brake pedal released, continuity should exist not between brakelight switch terminals No. 2 and 3. See Fig 1 . If continuity is not as specified, replace brakelight switch. If continuity is as specified, go to next step.
- With brake pedal released, continuity should not exist between brakelight switch terminals No. 1 and 4. If continuity is not as specified, replace brakelight switch. If continuity is as specified, go to next step.
- When brake pedal is depressed, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 4. Continuity should also exist between terminals No. 2 and 3. If continuity is not as specified, replace brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
