Power Steering Gear Box: Installation
- Install steering rack into right side of vehicle.
- Tighten four steering rack nuts.
Tightening torque: 27-38 lb.ft (37-52 N.m, 3.8-5.3 kg.m)
- Tighten bolts and nuts to the both end of subframe and rear lower arm bushing
Tightening torque: 69-86 lb.ft (93-117 N.m, 9.5-11.9 kg.m)
- Remove a transaxle jack or suitable floor jack from subframe.
- Tighten No.1 engine mounting bolts.
Tightening torque: 49.2-69 lb.ft (67-93.2N.m, 6.8-9.5 kg.m)
- Install engine mounting member.
Tightening torque: 48-65 lb.ft (64-89N.m, 6.5-9.1 kg.m)
- Install exhaust pipe and Catalytic converter.
Tightening torque: 27.4-38.3 lb.ft(37.2-51.9N.m, 3.8-5.3 kg.m)
- Tighten intermediate shaft bolt.
Tightening torque: 13-20 lb.ft (18-26 N.m, 1.8-2.7 kg.m)
- Install sealing covers and then tighten four steering column nuts in vehicle.
- Tighten two universal joint pinch bolts.
Tightening torque: 13-20 lb.ft (18-26 N.m, 1.8-2.7 kg.m)
- Connect high-pressure line and return line fittings.
- Install bracket to pipes and gear box and tighten two bracket bolts and nuts.
- Install tie rod into knuckle arm.
- Tighten nuts and install cotter pins.
Tightening torque: 22-33 lb.ft (29-44 N.m, 3-4.5 kg.m)
- Install extension bar on transaxle.
Tightening torque: 28-38 lb.ft (38-51 N.m, 3.8-5.3 kg.m)
- Install change control rod on transaxle.
Tightening torque: 12-16 lb.ft (16-22 N.m, 1.6-2.3 kg.m)
- Install wheels and tires.
- Lower vehicle.
