Preliminary Inspection

Always check fluid levels and gearshift linkage. Visually inspect for vehicle modifications, electronic add-ons, fluid leaks and/or incorrect linkage adjustment. Check for trouble codes before any mechanical repair is performed. If no trouble codes are present, diagnose by symptom. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  .
