Lower Control Arm: Removal
For an exploded view of the lower control arm, see Fig 1 .
- Lift front of vehicle and support it with safety stands.
- Remove wheel and tire.
- Remove pivot bolt.
- Remove lower arm ball joint bolt and nut from steering knuckle.
- Remove 3 mounting bolts.
- Remove retaining nut, washer and rear control arm bushing.
- Remove 2 ball joint mounting nuts and bolts from lower control arm.
- Secure ball joint in a vise.
- Carefully use a chisel to remove dust boot from ball joint.
- Remove the front control arm bushing.
- Remove control arm.
