Cranks Slowly

  1. Check if engine cranks normally when battery is fully charged. If engine cranks normally when battery is fully charged, then check charging system. If engine does not crank normally when fully charged, then go to next step.
  2. Check starter cable connection for looseness and corrosion. If starter cable connections are loose and have corrosion, then repair or replace connections. If starter cable connections are NOT loose and have no corrosion, check for seized motor armature. Repair or replace as necessary.
