Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

VSS is located within the speedometer assembly and uses a reed switch to sense speedometer gear revolutions from the transaxle. VSS converts transaxle gear revolutions into pulse signals which are sent to the ECM. On all vehicles except Sportage, sensor is located on transaxle. On Sportage 2WD, located on right side of transmission. On Sportage 4WD, located on left rear side of transferrers.
