Passenger Power Window Switches

Turn ignition off. Disconnect appropriate passenger power window switch harness connector. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between specified switch terminals while operating switch. See PASSENGER POWER WINDOW SWITCH CONTINUITY (SEPHIA & SPECTRA)  or PASSENGER POWER WINDOW SWITCH CONTINUITY (SPORTAGE)  table. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Replace passenger power window switch if continuity is not as specified.

Switch Position Continuity Between Terminals No.
UP 2 & 3; 5 & 6
OFF 2 & 7; 5 & 6
DOWN 2 & 7; 3 & 6
PASSENGER POWER WINDOW SWITCH CONTINUITY (SPORTAGE)

Switch Position Continuity Between Terminals No.
UP 3 & 4; 4 & 5
DOWN 1 & 2; 2 & 3
