Clutches are single-disc type. A diaphragm spring is used to engage pressure plate. Clutch is hydraulically operated by a clutch master cylinder and transaxle housing-mounted slave cylinder. On Sportage, master cylinder uses fluid from brake master cylinder reservoir. A clutch switch is used to disable starter if clutch pedal is not fully depressed.
