System Inspection

Purge system operation takes place when vehicle is driving in gear (off idle), engine is at operating temperature and oxygen sensor is functioning normally. See Fig 1 . Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Check for vacuum at hose from solenoid to charcoal canister. If vacuum exists, replace solenoid.
