Abs Control Unit

ABS Control Unit contains 2 microprocessors and is located under passengers seat, it is non-repairable. ABS control unit monitors each wheel speed sensor, pump motor, brakelight switch and status of its various components. ABS control unit keeps each wheel from locking up by controlling ABS main relay, ABS pump motor, and Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).

ABS control unit also has self-diagnostic capabilities. When a problem is detected, it illuminates an ABS warning light and stores a diagnostic trouble code or codes. See RETRIEVING CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
