Diagnostic Test

CHECK THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE LEVEL 

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, Verify that the PCM is operating at the latest software version available.
3. Perform any Service Bulletins or PCM flash updates that may apply.

   Were any Service Bulletins or PCM flash updates available for this condition?

   Yes 

   • Perform the applicable Service Bulletin or PCM flash.
   • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
   • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
