Theory Of Operation

The Ignition Cylinder incorporates a Key Lock Solenoid (Ignition Solenoid). The Electronic Shift Module (ESM) monitors the Key Lock Solenoid circuits for electrical failures. If an open circuit, short to ground, or short to voltage is detected on these circuits, A DTC will set and the key will be stuck in the cylinder.
