Disassembly And Assembly: Assembly
| 1 - Piston Directional Arrow |
| 2 - Cylinder Number Stamp |
NOTE:
The fractured connecting rod and rod cap mating surfaces have orientation; they can only be fitted in one position. Furthermore, the connecting rods must be fitted so that the cylinder number stamped above and below the cap joint on the narrow face (edge) of the big end are both located on the same side of the connecting rod big end and on the same side of the piston directional arrow. Connecting rods and caps are not mutually interchangeable (cap #1 must stay with connecting rod #1, and so on).
- Lubricate the piston pin with clean engine oil. Assemble the connecting rod with the piston and install the piston pin.
1 - Connecting Rod 2 - Piston 3 - Piston Pin - Install NEW
piston pin circlips in the piston groove. Position the circlips with the end gap at the top.
1 - Piston Pin Circlips 2 - End Gap - If removed, install the piston rings. Refer to RING(S), PISTON, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the piston and connecting rod assembly to the engine. Refer to ROD, PISTON AND CONNECTING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
