Intermediate Pipe: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the fasteners securing the intermediate pipe to the front exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the fasteners securing the intermediate pipe to the muffler and remove the intermediate pipe.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
• Check the exhaust system for leaks. Refer to LEAK TESTING  .
