Intermediate Shaft Bearing: Notes
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Anytime the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) is mounted on the steering column the steering shaft must be kept from turning or else SCCM damage will occur. Some vehicles do not have an internal lock mechanisms, so the steering column shaft must be preventing from rotating through use of a suitable tool.
- Secure the steering wheel to prevent it from turning.
- Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering column. Refer to SHAFT, INTERMEDIATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
1 - Wire Harness Routing Clip - Disengage the wire harness routing clip.
1 - Intermediate Shaft Bearing Nuts - Remove the intermediate shaft bearing nuts and slide the intermediate shaft bearing off of the steering column.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle.
