Driver Knee Blocker Air Bag: Notes
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM . Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before continuing service.
- Remove the left silencer panel. Refer to PANEL, SILENCER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1 - Driver Knee Blocker Air Bag Screws 2 - Driver Knee Blocker Air Bag - Remove the driver knee blocker air bag screws and remove the driver knee blocker air bag.
1 - Driver Knee Blocker Air Bag 2 - Wire Harness Connector 3 - Wire Harness Connector Sides - Using an appropriate small tool, gently prying up on the sides of connector one at a time to disconnect the wire harness connector from the driver knee blocker air bag.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Connect the wire harness connector to the driver knee blocker air bag by pressing straight in on the connector. You can be certain that the connector is fully engaged in its receptacle by listening carefully for a distinct, audible click as the connector latches snap into place.
- Do not connect the negative battery cable at this time. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Verification Test procedure should be performed following service of any SRS component. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
