Hybrid Control Module (HCP) Verification Test
- SELECTING THE PROPER VERIFICATION TEST WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Inspect the vehicle to make sure that all components are properly installed and connected.
- Remove all test equipment.
- Perform the High Voltage Power-Up procedure.
- Make sure all power systems are fully charged and operational.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs. If any DTCs are present, refer to the appropriate Diagnostic Procedure.NOTE:
After replacing or flashing any high voltage module, the ignition must be turned to the off position for a minimum of 1 minute.
Select the appropriate repair from the list below and follow the steps for that repair.
Power Inverter Module (PIM) was replaced:
- Go To 2
Internal Transmission Repairs were made:
- Go To 3
Any other PHEV System related repairs were made:
- Go To 4
- PIM WAS REPLACED
- With the scan tool, perform the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) Replacement procedure.
- With the scan tool, perform the HCP VIN Programming procedure.
- With the scan tool, perform the Resolver Offset Relearn Trigger procedure.
Did the procedure/s pass?
Yes
- Go To 4
- INTERNAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR WAS MADE
- Check the Transmission Fluid Level and correct if necessary.
- With the scan tool, perform the Resolver Offset Relearn Trigger procedure.
Did the procedure/s pass?
Yes
- Go To 4
- ANY OTHER PHEV SYSTEM RELATED REPAIRS WERE MADE
- If an Electronic Control Module (ECU) was replaced, select the applicable module from the scan tool and select the miscellaneous functions. If the module has programmable features, program as necessary.
- Turn the ignition off, wait 30 seconds, and then turn the ignition on.
- Operate the vehicle in the conditions under which the DTC set or used the When Monitored and Set Conditions for the DTC that was set.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are any DTCs set?
Yes
- Repair the DTC that is set. Refer to the appropriate Diagnostic Information.
No
- Test complete.
