3.6L RHD

REMOVAL 

CAUTION:

Anytime the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) is mounted on the steering column the steering shaft must be kept from turning or else SCCM damage will occur. Some vehicles do not have an internal lock mechanisms, so the steering column shaft must be preventing from rotating through use of a suitable tool.

  1. Secure the steering wheel to prevent it from turning.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Remove the air intake resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 3.6L .
  5. Remove the air intake tube. Refer to TUBE, INTAKE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 3.6L .
  6. Remove the cowl silencer panel. Refer to SILENCER, COWL EXTENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Remove and DISCARD  the intermediate shaft pinch bolt.

  8. Be sure to keep the intermediate shaft coupling white clip in place as shown.

  9. Remove and DISCARD  the upper steering column shaft coupling pinch bolt and disengage the intermediate shaft from the steering column shaft coupling.

  10. Remove the intermediate shaft.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle.
