Diagnostic Test

VERIFY ACTIVE DTC 

1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
2. Make sure the passenger seat is empty and in the upright position. Make sure the temperature of the seat is lower than 90 degrees F and higher than 35 degrees F.
3. The following DTCs will cause the procedure to fail: B1B9D-00 and/or B2212-00. Follow the instructions for repairing these DTCs before attempting the Empty Seat Relearn procedure.
   NOTE:

   Failure to follow the test instructions or aborting the test causes faults to set when performing the Scan tool Driver Presence Detection Verification Test. To prevent faults due to process errors: verify that all tests steps that led you here were performed as directed, verify that the ignition is in run position. Only press scan tool buttons when directed to do so and perform the scan tool Driver Presence Detection Verification Test to completion.

4. With the scan tool in DPDM, select the Miscellaneous Functions tab on the scan tool, select Empty Seat Value Relearn. Run the test by following the instructions displayed on the scan tool. When the test completes, wait two minutes and then proceed as follows.
5. With the scan tool, read active DTCs.

   Does the scan tool display DTC: B1BA8-00-OCM SYSTEM OUT OF CALIBRATION/NOT CALIBRATED as active?

   Yes 

   • Replace the Driver Presence Detection Module in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DRIVER PRESENCE DETECTION (DPDM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
   • Perform the DRIVER PRESENCE DETECTION MODULE (DPDM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: DRIVER PRESENCE DETECTION MODULE (DPDM) VERIFICATION TEST  .

   No 

   • Test complete.
   • Perform the DRIVER PRESENCE DETECTION MODULE (DPDM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: DRIVER PRESENCE DETECTION MODULE (DPDM) VERIFICATION TEST  .
