Diagnostic Test

  1. READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECU's) and record on the repair order.
    2. With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
    3. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK BCM VEHICLE CONFIGURATION 
    1. With the scan tool, confirm vehicle Model line is JT.
    2. With the scan tool, confirm, Country Code not SNA.
    3. With the scan tool, confirm vehicle Model in range of 2018 to 2063.

      Are any configurations incorrect?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK FOR BCM CORRECT HARDWARE 
    1. Access BCM. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
    2. Confirm correct part number.

      Is it the correct part number?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

  4. CHECK FOR CORRECT LBSS 
    1. Access LBSS. Refer to MODULE, BLIND SPOT (BSM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
      NOTE:

      Do Not Change if the part is not the latest part level, just confirm that it is a Wrangler part.

    2. Confirm correct part number.

      Is it the correct part number?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

  5. RESET BCM VEHICLE CONFIGURATION 
    1. With the scan tool, restore BCM vehicle configuration.
    2. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Test complete.
