Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY OPERATION OF THE RADIO AND BACKUP LAMPS 
    1. Verify the operation of the Radio and Backup Lamps.

      Do the Radio and Backup Lamps operate correctly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Diagnose any problems with the Radio and Backup Lamps.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE (F923) FUSED RUN RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Apply the parking brake.
    3. Disconnect the Rear Video Camera Assembly Harness Connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Measure the voltage between the (F923) Fused Run Relay Output circuit and ground.

      Is battery voltage present?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Repair the (F923) Fused Run Relay Output circuit for an open or short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (Z916) GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z916) Ground Circuit.

      Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Repair the (Z916) Ground circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE (J220) LVDS CABLE 
    1. Disconnect the Central Vision Process Module (CVPM) C4 harness connector.
    2. Connect test tool cable kit 9977-6-8 to the CVPM and Camera.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Set the parking brake to prevent the vehicle from moving.
    5. Apply foot to the brake pedal.
    6. Move the gear selector from PARK to Reverse.
    7. While maintaining foot pressure on the brake pedal, check the operation of the back up camera on the Radio screen.

      Did operation of the camera return to the Radio screen?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To: Next Step. 
  5. CHECK THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the vehicle camera from the 9977-6-8 test tool cable kit
    3. Connect a known good camera.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Make sure the parking brake is set to prevent the vehicle from moving.
    6. Apply foot to the brake pedal.
    7. Move the gear selector from PARK to Reverse.
    8. While maintaining foot pressure on the brake pedal, check the operation of the back up camera on the Radio screen.

      Did operation of the camera return to the Radio screen?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Rear View Camera in accordance with Service Information.

      No 

      • Replace the Central Vision Processing Module (CVPM) in accordance with Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
