Diagnostic Test

READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN 

1. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs and record on the repair order.
2. With the scan tool, run a Vehicle Scan Report or record the Environmental Data.
3. With the scan tool, under the perform an ECU Reset to the ORC and then erase DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition off for at least 10.0 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
7. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
   WARNING:

   Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

   WARNING:

   If the airbag control module is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury.

   Did the DTC return?

   Yes 

   • Replace the ORC according to the Service Information. Refer to: OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
   • Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to: RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST .
