The fuel gauge sending unit is attached to the side of the fuel pump module. The fuel gauge sending unit consists of a float arm and a variable resistor track (card). The fuel level sensor signal is hard-wired to the BCM. The BCM broadcasts the signal over the CAN Bus for the other modules that need the fuel level sensor information.
