Body Control Module (BCM)
BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
The BCM is the gateway for bus communications. The BCM is also the power mirror enabler by way of a hardwired circuit to the power mirror relay.
Inputs
- Receives input information over the LIN bus from the mirror switch to operate the mirrors.
- Reverse gear status input from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) obtained over the CAN bus from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) if equipped with an automatic transmission or the Neutral Position Sensor (NPS) if equipped with a manual transmission.
- Receives LIN bus input from Combined Rear View Mirror Module (CRVMM) when the auto dimming feature is ON.
Outputs
- Sends left and right turn signal requests to the exterior mirrors.
- Sends the PRNDL signal over the LIN bus to the CRVMM.
- Sends a request to enable the Auto Dimming feature by transmitting a LIN bus message to the CRVMM.
- Broadcasts the EC mirror status over the CAN Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) bus.
- Power mirror relay control output.
