Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN NOTE:
All Key Fobs used with this vehicle should be present during this test.
NOTE:To Press the ignition on the Passive Entry Keyless Go (PEKG)/Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) system, use the rounded end of the Key Fob to press the Start/Stop button.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECU's) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Press the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Press the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- Press the lock/unlock button of the alleged inoperative Key Fob several times.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to: TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- PROGRAM ALL KEY FOBS NOTE:
All Key Fobs that are to be used in this vehicle must remain on the front seat near the console during programming.
NOTE:The RF-Hub must have a minimum of one programmed Key Fob for this DTC to be stored.
- With the scan tool, select "Misc. Functions", "Program Ignition Fob" and follow the instructions on the screen.
- Program all Key Fobs that are to be used with this vehicle in accordance with Service Information.
- Try each Key Fob that was programmed.
Do all Key Fobs operate properly?
Yes
- Test complete.
No
- With the scan tool perform the "RF-HUB", "Reset ECU" and repeat this test from the beginning.
