Removal And Installation: Shifter: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Place the shifter in the Park position.
3. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the rear of the shifter assembly.
4. Remove the shifter cable end from the shifter ball stud.

5. Separate the shifter cable from the shifter.
6. Remove the shifter mounting bolts.

   1 - Transmission Shifter to Floor Bolts

   2 - Transmission Shifter Cable Grommet To Floor Nuts

   3 - Transmission Shifter Cable Bracket To Transmission Bolts

7. Remove the shifter from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Adjust the shift cable. Refer to SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT  .
