Park Assist Module (PAM)
PARK ASSIST MODULE (PAM)
| Refer to COMPONENT INDEX . |
The PAM is the central component of the PAS. It supplies voltage to the park assist sensors, receives and analyzes data from the sensors, calculates and communicates the proper display information to the BCM, performs system diagnostics, and communicates with other electronic modules in the vehicle or with a diagnostic scan tool over the CAN data bus. The module operates on battery voltage received through a fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC), and is grounded through a take out of the body wire harness.
Inputs
- Each park assist sensor inputs to the PAM
- PAM operation mode from the BCM
- Ignition status from the BCM
- Trailer hook sensor input
- Trailer connection status from the BCM
- Vehicle speed from the ABS module.
- Reverse gear status from the BCM
- PAM alert mode from the BCM
Outputs
- PAM LED control status to the BCM
- Park chime type to the BCM to the radio
- Park chime activation to the BCM to the radio
- Park chime repetition rate to the BCM and the radio
- PAM system fault to the BCM
- PAM above speed to the BCM
- Trigger signals to all of the park assist sensors
