Theory Of Operation

The driver monitoring system consists of:

• Driver Monitoring System Module (DMSM)
• Driver Monitoring Camera (DMC)
• Two Infrared (IR) LEDs

The DMC monitors the driver's head and eye movements. The IR LEDs emit light of a specific wavelength to which the DMC imager is tuned. The DMSM processes the images and classifies the status and behavior of the driver.

The camera signals are sent via a coaxial cable to the DMSM. The DMSM monitors the camera and camera circuits for concerns.
