Axle Bushings

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the upper control arm from the axle. Refer to ARM, UPPER CONTROL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

   1 - Nut, Special 9948-3

   2 - Receiver 9948-1

   3 - Axle Bracket

   4 - Remover, Bushing 9948-2

2. Assemble Special Tool # 9948, (Bushing Remover/Installer) as shown in illustration.
   • Special Tool # 9948-3, (Special Nut)
   • Special Tool # 9948-1, (Receiver)
   • Special Tool # 9948-2, (Bushing Remover) Driver.
3. Press the bushing out of the axle bracket.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

  • Special Tool # 9948-3, (Special Nut)
  • Special Tool # 9948-4, (Bushing Installer) Driver
  • Special Tool # 9948-1, (Receiver)
