Removal And Installation

The Electronic Shift Module (ESM) is integrated into the transmission shifter assembly. If it is necessary to remove the ESM, remove the transmission shifter assembly. Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 8HP50/850RE and/or SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 8HP75 .

NOTE:

If the ESM is being replaced, the "Restore Vehicle Configuration" routine must be performed. Using the diagnostic scan tool, navigate to the BCM Misc Functions menu to select and perform this routine.
