Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Refer to TIE ROD, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .DISCARD  the outer tie rod end nut.
  3. Remove the hub and bearing. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Remove the three splash shield bolts (1) and remove the splash shield (2).
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle. Refer to SENSOR, WHEEL SPEED, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  6. Remove and DISCARD  the steering knuckle pinch bolt (1) and nut then disengage the lower ball joint stud from the steering knuckle.

  7. Remove the two strut lower bolts (1).
  8. Remove the steering knuckle (3).
