Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Install the outer tie rod end using the same number of turns as when removed.

Thread the outer tie rod end (2) onto inner tie rod (4).
Place the outer tie rod end (2) into the steering knuckle (5). Install and tighten a NEW outer tie rod end nut (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the tie rod jam nut (3) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to WHEELS & TIRES, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
Perform wheel alignment setting toe to specifications. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
