In vehicles not equipped with the optional PEKG system, an active VTA alarm can be disarmed if a valid key FOBIK is used to transition the ignition switch from OFF to RUN. If a valid key FOBIK is not detected by the SKIS and communicated to the BCM, the alarm will continue to be active.
