Water Pump

Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
Using a NEW gasket, install the water pump and tighten the three bolts (1) and one nut (4) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the oil cooler hose (3) to the water pump.
Install the EGR cooler hose (2) to the water pump.

Install the four wire harness retainers (1, 2, 3, 4) to the water pump.

Install the lower radiator hose (1) to the water pump.
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
Install the A/C compressor. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, INSTALLATION .
Evacuate air and fill cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
Start the engine and check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS .
