Link, Spring: Removal

NOTE:
On four wheel drive models, the spring link to cradle bolt (7) will contact the rear differential unit when attempting to remove it. To remove it, partially remove the bolt, cut it in half, then remove the remaining portion of the bolt. Install the new bolt and cam nut in the opposite direction from which it was removed.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE & WHEEL, REMOVAL .
- Support the spring link with a jack stand or equivalent.
- While holding the lower stud stationary, remove the lower stabilizer bar link nut (5) and separate the stabilizer bar link from the spring link.NOTE:
Mark the location of the spring link to knuckle mounting bolt (4) with a grease pencil or equivalent to mark the position to help during installation and rear wheel alignment.
- Remove and DISCARD
the spring link to knuckle mounting bolt/nut (4) from the spring link (6).
- Slowly lower the jack stand or equivalent and remove the rear spring (1) from the vehicle while separating the spring link from the knuckle.NOTE:
Mark the location of the spring link to cradle mounting bolt/nut (7) with a paint marker or equivalent. The marked location will be used during installation to make sure the rear alignment is not changed.
- Remove and DISCARD
the spring link to cradle mounting bolt/nut (7) from the spring link.
- Remove the stabilizer bar link lower bracket bolt (1).
- Remove the stabilizer bar link lower bracket.
