Engine Compartment PDC: Notes
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to 3.6L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
or 5.7L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

1 - Plastic Two Piece Fasteners 2 - Right Engine Compartment Closeout 3 - Push Pins 4 - Retainer Clips - Remove the plastic two piece fasteners. Remove the push pins.
- Release the retainer clips and remove the right engine compartment closeout.
1 - Latches 2 - Power Distribution Center (PDC) Cover - Remove the Engine Compartment PDC cover by pushing inward on the latches.
1 - Upper PDC Captive Screws 2 - Eyelet Fasteners 3 - Eyelet Terminals - Remove the eyelet fasteners and disconnect the eyelet terminals from the PDC.
- Loosen the upper PDC captive screws to release the electrical connections under the upper PDC.
1 - Lock Tabs 2 - Upper PDC - Release the lock tabs and remove the upper PDC from the lower PDC.
1 - Wire Harness Connectors 2 - Eyelet Fasteners 3 - Eyelet Terminals - Release and remove the upper PDC wire harness connectors from the lower tray by pulling upward from the lower PDC. Be careful not to damage the connectors.
- Remove the eyelet fasteners and remove the eyelet terminals from the PDC.
1 - Lower PDC Bolts 2 - Lower PDC - Remove the lower PDC bolts securing the lower PDC to the body.
- If necessary to gain access to the lower wire harness connector, remove the coolant bottle fasteners and reposition the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 3.6L or BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
- Carefully lift the PDC from vehicle. If equipped, disconnect the wire harness connector from the bottom of the lower PDC and remove the PDC from the vehicle.
- If needed, remove the Dual Battery Switch Module (DBSM) or Power Control Relay (PCR). Refer to MODULE, DUAL BATTERY SWITCH (DBSM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
INSTALLATION
During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- If removed, tighten the fasteners securely.
