Removal And Installation: Passenger: Notes

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to 3.6L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT or 5.7L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT . Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before continuing service.
2. Remove the right silencer panel. Refer to PANEL, SILENCER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the passenger knee air bag screws.

4. Disconnect the wire harness connector for the passenger knee air bag, then remove the passenger knee air bag from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Do not connect the negative battery cable at this time. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Verification Test procedure should be performed following service of any SRS component. Refer to SERVICE AFTER A SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT .

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
