Left Middle Heat Shield: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the left catalytic converter heat shield. Refer to SHIELD, HEAT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the left middle exhaust heat shield nuts and the left middle exhaust heat shield.

INSTALLATION 

During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Check the exhaust system for proper clearance with the frame and underbody components. A minimum clearance of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required.
• Start the vehicle and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
