Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.

NOTE:

LHD shown, RHD similar.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove the four fasteners (1) that secure the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) (2) to the instrument panel.
  4. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness connector from the receptacle on the back of the IPC (2).
  5. Remove the IPC (2) from the instrument panel.
