Cylinder Head: Inspection

1. Check the flatness of the cylinder head gasket surface with a straight edge (2) and a feeler gauge (1).
2. The cylinder head must be flat within proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Remove any carbon or varnish deposits from inside of valve guides with a reliable guide cleaner.
4. Inspect the following components and verify that they are within proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS :
   • Valve Springs
   • Valve Seats
   • Valve Guides
   • Valves

Inspect the valve rocker arm for wear or damage. Replace as necessary.
